There are places we revisit, over and over in our reality due to the intimacy they offer through past experiences. There are places we revisit over and over again in our imagination due to the memories they have left deeply entrenched in our minds. Once the subconscious takes over, fragments of your thoughts and feelings interlock with the day to day events you experience where you encounter the landscapes of dreams, a dual reflection: one of your memories and fears and hopes for the world around you and one of how you truly see yourself. Taking over from where Lucid Formations left off, DREAMSCAPES explores the attachment people have towards places that seem strange and mystical on the surface by removing the intricate details, colouring these worlds with hazy nostalgic colours and focusing on the abstractions of these places we visit in and out of memories as we sleep at night, succumbing to our subliminal desires to escape a reality that challenges us everyday - for better or for worse.
