IMAGINED LANDS

The Imagined Lands series focuses on what necessarily strikes as an idyllic place to an inhabitant. Is it how nature crowns it, with blooming thickets and foliage? A bustling community atmosphere or absolute stark desolation? And how do these elements play into the innate security of a land? This series also focused on how the idea of a desirable place and the element of isolation come hand in hand - many getaways are romanticized for their lack of disturbance and their peaceful nature, reflecting on the universal desire for individuals to be able to escape the mundanity and stress of their own lives. This reflects on something deeper beyond the human condition, that spaces that function in regular society contribute to a burden and intensity that weighs on the mental well-being of the individual, causing them to seek out solitude.
